By Car
Please follow the recommended routes signed by the AA. There are extensive car parks which are free to use, except at The Festival and on the Saturday of The Open in November. If you are traveling by car, check your best route with our AA Road Planner racecourse maps. Nearer the racecourse, you'll find AA signage directing you to the nearest available car park.

If you're driving up from London/South East, we find the M40/A40 is the best option. It's a nice gentle pootle through Oxford (excellent services) and a more scenic option than the M5. Always leave the car at your hotel/B&B and enjoy a nice walk to the course. There are buses running constantly from the rail station and one of the highlights of any day is the bus ride into town after racing - sat next to Ted Walsh two years ago and happily murdered Irish Rover, Whiskey in a Jar etc.....

For GPS users, the best postcode to use is GL50 4SH.

By Train
As mentioned, there's a bus link that runs from Cheltenham Spa Station from 2 hours before racing, returning after racing, for The Festival and The Open. For other meetings, station taxis will deliver passengers direct to the racecourse and collect after racing.

There are regular trains to and from Cheltenham Spa to most areas throughout the country.

By Coach
Right to the gates of Cheltenham Racecourse!

National Express will be operating special charter coach services from many locations across the UK for all four days of The Festival in March 2013. All services will operate right to the racecourse entrance, arriving with plenty of time to spare before the races start, with time to celebrate winnings afterwards! Customers can purchase either an admission ticket and coach travel package, or coach travel only
