Three days of racing magic - 11th, 12th and 13th November

A major highlight of the British Racing Calendar, with three days of racing magic, 80 trade stands in The Open Shopping Village, a great atmosphere in the grandstands, bars and restaurants and an historic race. Under 18's are admitted free on all three days. For more details about each individual day of this great event, please see below.

Countryside Day - 11th November

One of the most popular days of the season, Friday at The Open is Countryside Day with its unique country fair atmosphere and a range of displays and demonstrations covering many equine and other country pursuits. From gundog displays in the paddock before racing, to the local hunt charging across the course during the afternoon, Countryside Day offers a great opportunity to celebrate everything that is so special about the English Countryside.

There are six high quality races, with the feature event being the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase over the twists and turns of our unique cross country course. Gates open at 10.30am with the first race at 12.55pm and the last race at 3.50pm.

BetVictor Gold Cup - 12th November

This day is the highlight of the first half of the Jump racing season, featuring the Bet Victor Gold Cup.

BetVictor Gold Cup Day has seven top quality races and one of the most popular days at Cheltenham outside of The Festival. Annacotty won the 2015 renewal of the feature race for trainer Alan King and this year’s contest will not doubt be as enthralling as ever.

Aside from the Gold Cup, there are six other highly competitive and valuable contests on one of the best Saturday cards of the entire season; over £300,000 is on offer as prize money.

Gates open at 10.00am with the first race at 12.40pm. The last race is at 4.05pm*

The Open Sunday - 13th November

A day for families. Not only is there a third consecutive day of great racing to enjoy, but also plenty of free entertainment for the children as well. This is the only Sunday where racing takes place at Cheltenham throughout the year, so a great opportunity to get the whole family along.

Racegoers can also enjoy a hugely competitive handicap hurdle - the Stan James Handicap Hurdle - where the up and coming stars of the hurdling world take centre stage.

Club and Tattersalls ticket holders: To keep the children entertained there will be a range of family activities including visits from Peppa Pig and Mummy Pig, who will both be making personal appearances at intervals throughout the day
